News And Then There Were Two: Finalists of "American Idol XIII" Named The two singers who will vie for the title of "American Idol" were revealed on the May 15 broadcast of "American Idol XIII."

During the telecast host Ryan Seacrest announced that Alex Preston received the fewest number of votes and was, therefore, eliminated from the competition. The remaining two finalists are Caleb Johnson and Jena Irene. The Top Two finalists will compete one last time May 20 at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE. The evening will be broadcast beginning at 8 PM ET on Fox.

The final show of the season, which will air May 21 beginning at 8 PM ET, will feature performances by Lady Antebellum, Aloe Blacc, KISS, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Nettles, Paramore, Phillip Phillips and Darius Rucker as well as the announcement of the winner of the famed singing competition.

Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple, After Midnight), Taylor Hicks (Grease), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Constantine Maroulis (Jekyll and Hyde, Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray, Hair), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
