As previously announced, the evening will feature the premieres of song cycles penned by Sam Davis, Sean Hartley, Paul Loesel, Steve Marzullo and Joseph Thalken. Anderson joins a cast that includes Kate Baldwin, Tituss Burgess, Katie Clarke, Karen Murphy, Sally Wilfert and Michael Winther. The 8 PM evening will also feature a new work by composer Ben Wexler.
The performers will be backed by Tom Murray on piano, Steve Benson on guitar, Ed Matthew on clarinet and Clay Ruede on cello. Graham Rowat will host the evening, which features direction by Annette Joles.
In the world-premiere works, the composers, according to press notes, "lambast love or honor Eros as they see fit, in a series of four song cycles that chart the many different experiences and expressions of romance."
In addition to Avenue Q, Christian Anderson has been seen on Broadway in High Fidelity and Rent as well as in the national tours of Rent and The Full Monty. He was part of the cast of the Geffen Playhouse's production of Wit, and his TV credits include "The Division" and "Days of Our Lives."
