Cabaret & Concert News Andrea Frierson and Debbie Gravitte Warm Up for Fall Broadway Jazz Sessions Russ Kaplan and his eight-piece band host monthly showtune concerts at Green Room 42.

New York stage actors Andrea Frierson and Chris Dilley will be guest singers at the September edition of Russ Kaplan’s Broadway Jazz Session, the monthly concert series showcasing In Transit co-composer Kaplan’s jazz interpretations of current Broadway songs.

Guests for the September 10 concert will be Frierson, the Star Search veteran who performs the solo musical salute to Ella Fitzgerald Me and Ella, and Dilley, who sings with Broadway Inspirational Voices as was featured in the Off-Broadway musical Voca People.

Also just announced for the upcoming fall Broadway Jazz Sessions: Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Chicago) on October 1, and Marva Hicks (Motown; Caroline, or Change) December 10.

In the 8PM concerts at Green Room 42, Kaplan, his guests, and his eight-piece band will perform songs from shows new (Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton) and classic (Chicago, Hello, Dolly!).

Kaplan is co-creator of Broadway’s In Transit, the family musical Dear Albert Einstein, and the play with music High School Confidential.
