PlayBlog Andrew Lippa's "It Gets Better," Featuring Texas State University Students, Now Available on iTunes (Video) Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa has released his new song, "It Gets Better," featuring musical theatre students from Texas State University, to aide the efforts of the It Gets Better campaign. After its success on YouTube, the song is now available for download on iTunes with all proceeds going to The Trevor Project.

“This has been an incredible journey for all of us,” said Kaitlin Hopkins (Bat Boy), head of the musical theatre program at Texas State University, in a statement. “A student recently said to me, ‘This has changed me—this is why I wanted to be an artist in the first place'... I couldn't agree more."

Columnist Dan Savage founded the national anti-bullying campaign in September 2010, in response to the outbreak of teenage suicides among the LGBT community. Since then, Broadway stars and creatives have made videos sharing their personal struggle with bullying, coming out and accepting themselves—all ending in the promise that it will, in fact, "get better."

Lippa, known for composing the music of The Addams Family and The Wild Party, among others, has written the song to express his message against bullying. While serving as the first composer in residence for Texas State University's musical theatre program, Lippa teamed up with the students and Hopkins, to say, "It Gets Better."
