News Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock Will Get Broadway Cast Album The new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical School of Rock, which opens on Broadway Dec. 6 at the Winter Garden Theatre, will release its original Broadway cast album Dec. 4. The musical is based on the popular 2003 Paramount Pictures film.

The new album will include twelve original songs by Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, in addition to three songs from the film.

Alex Brightman will star as unlikely music teacher Dewey Finn alongside Sierra Boggess as school principal Rosalie Mullins.

Previews begin Nov. 9.

Based on the Paramount movie written by Mike White, School of Rock has a book by Julian FellowesSchool of Rock—The Musical will be directed by Laurence Connor.

The production will also feature choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, scenic and costume design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Mick Potter and music supervision by Ethan Popp.

It is being produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization, and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as executive producers.
