Currently starring in Falsettos on Broadway, Andrew Rannells appeared on the December 16 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Fallon discovered that before Rannells starred on Broadway, he led the unauthorized Karate Kid musical, It’s Karate, Kid! The Musical. Rannells joked that the parody was illegal, not having paid for rights to The Karate Kid, but got away with it because of a comma.

Rannells also shared his stories of survival jobs that he would quit by not showing up to them or creating elaborate excuses.

The actor currently stars as Whizzer in Falsettos opposite two-time Tony winner Christian Borle. He previously took over the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, stepped in as King George in Hamilton, and earned his Tony nomination for originating the role of Edler Price in The Book of Mormon.

Rannells also played a round of Virtual Reality Pictionary with Fallon and Saturday Night Live’s Michael Che.
