News Andy Karl Will Host Student Theatre Arts Festival On Broadway The fifth annual Student Theatre Arts Festival, hosted by 2015 Tony Award nominee Andy Karl (On the Twentieth Century), will be held May 18 at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre.

Roundabout Theatre Company (under the artistic direction of Todd Haimes) and Education at Roundabout (Jennifer DiBella, director of education) will present the evening, which will begin with a student design exhibition at 6 PM, followed by opening remarks from Karl and performances at 6:30 PM. Tickets are free.

The 2015 Student Theatre Arts Festival features performances and design work from Brooklyn School for Music and Theatre, Bronx Theatre High School, Curtis High School (Staten Island), Esperanza Preparatory Academy (Manhattan), Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School (Brooklyn), High School of Art & Design (Manhattan), High School of Fashion Industries (Manhattan), Intermediate School 237 (Queens), Intermediate School 34 (Staten Island), Intermediate School  109 (Brooklyn), Intermediate School  111 (Manhattan),  James Madison High School (Brooklyn), Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis High School (Manhattan), Port Richmond High School (Staten Island), Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts (Manhattan), and Roundabout’s own after school program, Student Production Workshop.

The fifth annual Student Theatre Arts Festival will feature the work of students from 14 partner schools, representing the five boroughs of New York City.

The evening begins with a "Gallery Walk" through exhibits of students' costume and set designs. Student performers will present selected scenes and musical numbers from original and existing plays and musicals.

Tickets for the festival are free and available on a first come, first serve basis in person at Roundabout's American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street) at 6 PM May 18.
