The View UpStairs creator Max Vernon will return to Joe’s Pub April 23 with his Existential Life Crisis Lullaby concert residency, featuring special guests Andy Mientus, Michael Longoria, Frenchie Davis, Jo Lampert, Lauren Pritchard, Fancy Feast, Sophia Ramos, Helen Park, and Leah Lane.

Vernon’s Off-Broadway musical The View UpStairs (which featured Longoria and Davis in its Off-Broadway bow) was recently announced to make its London premiere at the Soho Theatre in July. He is also the composer-lyricist of the award-winning Off-Broadway musical KPOP. Vernon’s musicals have received the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, three Drama Desk Award nominations, a Jonathan Larson Grant, and the Richard Rodgers Award.
In addition to his musicals, the residency previews his newest work, The Tattooed Lady (written with Obie Award-winning playwright Erin Courtney), alongside other previously unheard material.

“I feel as if I’ve been mounting the queer downtown version of the Rockettes special on the Joe's Pub stage,” says Vernon in a statement. “With 30 homemade couture costumes, iconic performers such as Tonya Pinkins, Alice Ripley, Ethan Slater, Mary Testa, Robin de Jesus, Daphne Rubin-Vega and more. Now, for these new shows, I want to show the audience the grit hidden underneath the glitter; to tell my personal story as an artist and the experiences that lead me to writing for the theatre."
