Angel Wings, a new play by Murray Schisgal, will be presented Oct. 29-Nov. 21 by the 42nd Street Workshop at the Neighborhood Playhouse (340 East 54th St.). G.W. Reed will direct. There is no official opening date.

Schisgal's career has spanned nearly forty years. His plays, which were frequently performed on Broadway and Off-Broadway in the '60s and '70s, include The Typists, The Tiger, All Over Town, An American Millionaire and Jimmy Shine. Following success in London, he made his Broadway debut in 1964 with the comedy Luv, which starred Alan Arkin, Eli Wallach and Anne Jackson and ran 901 performances at the Booth Theatre. He also co-penned the movie "Tootsie."

Angel Wings is a farce about a philandering businessman who finds himself in hot water in the afterlife when God is revealed to be a woman. The large cast features Rhonda Christou, David Cruz, James DeMarse, Andrea Gabriel, Willie Ann Gissendanner, Helen Hanft, Mike Jankowitz, Brendan O'Malley, Jennifer Hodges, Stuart Steinberg, Bill Tatum and Elizabeth Ann Townsend.

The design team includes Roseana Rosa (sets), Robert Guy (costume), Scott O'Brien (sound) and Deborah Constantine (lights).
