News Angela Lansbury, Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Rainn Wilson, Kate Baldwin and More Set for Acting Company's 2012 Ruby Ball The Acting Company's 40th anniversary Ruby Ball will be held Dec. 3 at Capitale. James Houghton (founding artistic director of the Signature Theatre and the Richard Rodgers Director of Juilliard's Drama Division) and Earl Weiner (board chairman of both The Acting Company and Theatre Development Fund) are among the evening's honorees.

The evening, scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM with a cocktail reception, will be hosted by Jim Dale and include a performance from Kate Baldwin (Finian’s Rainbow, Giant) as well as tributes from Angela Lansbury, Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Rainn Wilson, Dana Ivey, Hamish Linklater, Joe Dowling (artistic director of The Guthrie) and Michael Kahn (artistic director of Washington's Shakespeare Theater).

Houghton will receive the John Houseman Award for his "profound commitment to developing American actors and building a diverse audience for the theatre." The award has been previously presented to James Bundy, Bernard Gersten, Jack O’Brien, Joe Papp, Harold Prince, Marian Seldes and Tony Randall, among others.

Weiner will receive the Warburg Humanitarian Award for his "outstanding philanthropic endeavor and leadership." Previous recipients include Harry Belafonte, Martin Segal, Tom Viola, Gerald Schoenfeld, Phyllis Newman, William Zabel and Abigail Disney.

Harriet Harris (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cinderella) and Dr. Kate Levin will present the awards.

Also scheduled to attend are Thomas Kean, record producer Clive Davis, director-choreographer Susan Stroman, TV personality Pia Lindstrom, Juilliard president Joseph Polisi, composer Mary Rodgers Guettel and The Broadway League's Charlotte St. Martin. The Acting Company was founded by Oscar winner John Houseman and current Acting Company producer Margot Harley in 1972 and received a 2003 Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre. The Company will present Of Mice and Men Dec. 4-8 at Baruch Performing Arts Center and As You Like It at the New Victory Theater in March 2013, as part of its 40th national tour.
