From March 10-12, the beloved actress will read the work-in-progress at the Geffen Playhouse's Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater. Show times are March 10 and 11 at 7:30 PM and March 12 at 2:30 PM. Based on the novella by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Oscar features direction by Frank Dunlop. Oscar and the Lady in Pink concerns a cancer-stricken ten-year-old boy who lives in a hospital. Granny Rose, one of the "ladies in pink," becomes Oscar's friend and creates a game that allows Oscar to believe each day is a decade in his life. Each night he writes a letter to God describing what each decade has brought him.

Perhaps best known her for work as TV sleuth Jessica Fletcher on "Murder, She Wrote," Angela Lansbury is one of the most celebrated stars of the Broadway stage. She received Tony Awards for her performances in Sweeney Todd, Gypsy, Dear World and Mame, and she also appeared on The Great White Way in Hotel Paradiso, A Taste of Honey, Anyone Can Whistle, The King and I and A Little Family Business. Her numerous film credits include "Gaslight," "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Manchurian Candidate," all of which brought the actress Academy Award nominations.

Tickets, priced at $100, benefit the Geffen Playhouse's educational outreach programs. Call (310) 208-5454 for reservations.
