News Angels in America Tony Winner Appointed Actors Studio Chair Angels in America Tony Award winner Ron Leibman has been named the new chair of the Acting Department at the Actors Studio Drama School in New York.

Actors Studio Dean Sam Schacht announced the appointment which will begin for the fall 2004 semester. Actor Leibman won the Tony Award as Best Actor in the Tony Kushner epic Angels in America. Known for his turns on television as Rachel's father on "Friends" and his Emmy Award-winning role on "Kaz," he has also appeared in such films as "Norma Rae," "Slaughterhouse Five," "Personal Velocity," "Auto Focus," and the upcoming "Garden State."

The New School University's Actors Studio Drama School is known for its "Inside the Actors Studio," the Emmy Award-nominated series aired on Bravo where actors, writers and directors are interviewed by James Lipton.
