Singer Ann Hampton Callaway celebrates movie songs and Broadway showtunes that became jazz standards for the late master jazz vocalist Ella Fitzgerald in her concert show, The Ella Century, which she will perform at the Smith Center in Las Vegas July 22.

Callaway, who earned a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the 1999 Broadway musical Swing!, told Playbill that she has assembled “an exciting show of songs from Broadway [and film] that come to life through the language of jazz” including “fresh takes on classics by Gershwin, Ellington, Rodgers, Porter, Styne, Sondheim, and more.”

The concert, which is timed to the centenary year of Fitzgerald’s birth, includes “How High the Moon,” “Mr. Paganini,” and “Every Time We Say Goodbye."

Tickets for the 7 PM concert at the Smith Center, 361 Symphony Park Ave., Las Vegas, cost $39–$59, and can be ordered at the Smith Center website.
