News Ann Hampton Callaway Will Offer Streisand Tunes in New Jersey Concert Tony nominee Ann Hampton Callaway will explore songs associated with Oscar winner Barbra Streisand in her upcoming concert at the South Orange Performing Arts Center.

Ann Hampton Callaway Sings The Streisand Songbook will be presented at the New Jersey venue Sept. 28. Show time is 8 PM. The acclaimed singing actress will also be featured in Playbill.com's "Their Favorite Things" series, where artists recount their most memorable theatrical experiences. One of Callaway's favorite acting performances was given by Elaine Stritch in the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Company. Says Callaway, "Elaine Stritch's feisty and ferocious performance was so phenomenal it helped define my dream to be a performer. She owned the stage as I'd never seen before and seduced me into wanting to shed light on the human condition with irony and compassion."

Not only a singer, Ann Hampton Callaway is also an acclaimed songwriter, whose works have been performed by Barbra Streisand, Patti LuPone and dozens of others. For her Broadway bow in Swing!, Callaway garnered a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and her many recordings include "Ann Hampton Callaway," "Bring Back Romance," "To Ella with Love" and "After Ours." Callaway is also a recipient of 14 Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Awards.
