Some TV stations wouldn't air the phrase The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas back in the late 1970s, but now, with Ann-Margret starring in a national touring revival, the word will even be heard on "Live With Regis."
Ann-Margret appears as Regis Philbin's first guest on the syndicated TV talk program Jan. 18. She'll talk about her legit theatrical debut, playing Texas madame Miss Mona in the upcoming 30-city national tour of the naughty and rueful 1978 musical comedy.
The new staging of the tuner is directed by Thommie Walsh and has one new song by composer lyricist Carol Hall. Bob Mackie designs Ann Margret's costumes.
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas opens at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT, Feb. 13. Check out the website at www.bestlittlemusical.com.
