News Ann Sanders Joins Cast of Off-Broadway's Avenue Q April 5 Ann Sanders, who played a year-long stint as Christmas Eve in the Broadway staging of the Tony-winning Avenue Q, resumes that role beginning April 5 in the Off-Broadway production at New World Stages.

Sanders joins a cast that includes Nicholas Kohn, Maggie Lakis, Seth Rettberg, Sarah Stiles, Cullen R. Titmas and Danielle K. Thomas.

Sanders has also been seen on Broadway as Belle in Beauty and the Beast.

It has also been announced that starting May 1 Saturday matinee performances of Avenue Q will begin at 2:30 PM instead of 2 PM.

The Tony Award-winning Best Musical Avenue Q began previews at New World Stages on Oct. 9, 2009, and opened Oct. 21, having concluded its six-year run on Broadway on Sept. 13.

Avenue Q is produced at New World Stages, as it was on Broadway, by Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman, Jeffrey Seller, The Vineyard Theatre and The New Group.

The musical comedy with people and puppets focuses on a group of 20-somethings fresh out of college who move to New York City with big dreams and tiny bank accounts. The show has music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty and is directed by Jason Moore. It's based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, with puppets conceived and designed by Rick Lyon.

Musical supervision is by Stephen Oremus, choreography is by Ken Roberson, scenic design is by Anna Louizos, costume design is by Mirena Rada, lighting design is by Howell Binkley, and sound design is by Acme Sound Partners. General management is by Ken Davenport, Davenport Theatrical Enterprises.

At the 499-seat theatre at New World Stages, Avenue Q performs Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets range in price from $89.50 to $69.50 and are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or visiting www.telecharge.com.

A limited number of rush tickets for $26.50 are available at the box office for each performance.
