News Anna Kendrick and Skylar Astin Will Reunite in "Pitch Perfect 2" Anna Kendrick and Skylar Astin may have a love duet in their future; Astin has signed on to star in "Pitch Perfect 2," according to Deadline.com.

Astin, who played Kendrick's love interest Jesse in "Pitch Perfect," will return to that role in the sequel to the 2012 hit musical film about a college a cappella group.

Written by Kay Cannon and directed by Elizabeth Banks, the film will also feature Katey Sagal ("Futurama," "Married With Children") and Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld ("True Grit," "Romeo and Juliet"). Kendrick, Rebel Wilson ("Bridesmaids," "Super Fun Night"), Brittany Snow ("Hairspray," "There's Always Woodstock") and Adam DeVine ("Workaholics", "Modern Family") will reprise their roles from "Pitch Perfect."

The 2012 movie followed Beca (Kendrick), who joined The Bellas, her school's all-girls singing group. Kendrick's hit solo, "Cups," achieved triple-platinum status.

Astin's stage credits include Georg in Spring Awakening and Mark in Rent at the Hollywood Bowl. He has appeared in "Glee," "Hamlet 2" and "Taking Woodstock."

Kendrick recently finished filming Rob Marshall's "Into the Woods," where she plays Cinderella. She also recently filmed the screen adaptation of Jason Robert Brown's musical The Last Five Years and has appeared in the "Twilight" film series, "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" and "50/50". Kendrick, who received an Oscar nomination for her role in "Up in the Air," was a Tony nominee at age 12 for her role as Dinah in High Society and gave a memorable performance of "The Ladies Who Lunch" in the movie "Camp."

Wilson's film credits include "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and "Bridesmaids." Her TV work includes "Super Fun Night."

Sagal was a member of Bette Midler's backup group The Harlettes in 1978, and again from 1982–83. Her solo albums include "Well," "Room" and "Covered."

Banks, who played Gail in "Pitch Perfect," has also been featured in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "Modern Family" and "30 Rock."

The film is slated for release May 15, 2015.
