Broadway News Anna Uzele Departs Six, Joy Woods Joins the Cast

The pop musical has a new Catherine Parr.

Anna Uzele will depart Broadway's Six, with her final performance March 13. Succeeding Uzele and making her Broadway debut as Catherine Parr, also known as the queen who survived, is Joy Woods, beginning March 14.

Woods, whose most recent credit is the role of Chiffon in the current Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, joins Adrianna Hicks (Catherine of Aragon), Andrea Macasaet (Anne Boleyn), Abby Mueller (Jane Seymour), Brittney Mack (Anna of Cleves), and Samantha Pauly (Katherine Howard). Keirsten Nicole Hodgens, Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert, Courtney Mack, and Mallory Maedke round out the cast.

Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the musical focuses on the stories of King Henry VIII's six wives with pop music and and all-female band, The Ladies in Waiting. As previously announced, Six will launch its North American national tour in Chicago March 29.
