News Annie Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation Will Get Chicago Debut in 2011 Circle Mirror Transformation, Annie Baker's delicate play about the interaction of actors in an acting class at a Vermont community center, will make its Chicago premiere in a staging by the Tony Award-winning Victory Gardens Theatre.

Dexter Bullard will direct the rueful comedy, which was acclaimed and much-extended in its world premiere by Off-Broadway's Playwrights Horizons in 2009-10.

Circle Mirror Transformation won the 2010 Obie Award for Best New American Play. The small-cast play is expected to have a wide life in regional theatres; The Studio Theatre in Washington, DC, will produce it in the fall, South Coast Rep will stage it in January 2011. VG performances will play the Richard Christiansen Theater Feb. 25-April 10, 2011.

The previously announced season includes work by Edward Albee, Joel Drake Johnson, Julie Hébert and Charles Smith.
