The original cast album of the current Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun has won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, it was announced the afternoon of Feb. 23. Winners in some Grammy categories were announced prior to the Feb. 23 live evening broadcast of the recording industry's highest honor.

The Show Album category included nominees Hedwig and the Angry Inch (of Off-Broadway, the only completely new score to earn a nomination), Footloose (currently at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway),Fosse (at Broadway's Broadhurst) and last year's Broadway revival of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Annie Get Your Gun features Bernadette Peters and Tom Wopat at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway (both are on the disc, too). The show took home the 1999 Best Musical Revival Tony Award. John McDaniel and Stephen Ferrera produced the album, on the Angel label.
