Annie Golden to Star as Herself in New Bounty Hunter Musical | Playbill

News Annie Golden to Star as Herself in New Bounty Hunter Musical Broadway actress Annie Golden (Violet, Xanadu, Hair) will star as herself in the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat private staged reading of Annie Golden: Bounty Hunter, Yo!, by Joe Iconis, Lance Rubin and Jason SweetTooth Williams on March 28 in New York.

Annie Golden: Bounty Hunter, Yo! received a table reading earlier this month and will have a week of rehearsals prior to the staged reading.

Directed by OBIE winner Leah Gardiner, with musical direction by Rob Baumgartner, the cast will also feature Jeff McCarthy, Lulu Fall, Badia Farha, Katie Lee Hill, Kingsley Leggs, Travis Mitchell, Herman Sebek, Jason Veasey and Marvin Avila. The line producer is Matt Schicker and the stage manager is Pamela Remler.

Golden will play a down-and-out Broadway star who is sick of competing for prime roles with younger actresses. Her life is changed when, following a ninja ambush on her apartment, she is thrown into the world of bounty hunting. On a mission through the jungle, she is suddenly faced with the challenge of saving theatre itself.

Created in 2011 by Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat holds weeklong residencies in the Hudson Valley every summer for musical theatre writers to write their new musicals.
