NY Musical Theatre Fest Another Chance to Be All You Can Be: Captain Gravy’s Wavy Navy Adds Performance Sept. 23 Billed as a “kitschy, catchy, campy romp to the depths of your imagination,” Captain Gravy’s Wavy Navy has added an additional performance for its New York Musical Theatre Festival run on Sept. 23, which will also be its final performance.

Performances will take place at the 45th Street Theatre, located at 354 West 45th Street.

The musical made its premiere at the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival. In the psychedelic utopia, "The River of Life", something stinky is in the air. Join Captain Gravy and his colorful Wavy Navy aboard the transmorphing Hip Ship, as they journey to the Dirty Empire to rescue the moon from the clutches of Mu Pollu, the Duke of Dirt.

The large ensemble cast includes Grey Guy Gorden (Captain Gravy), Edward M Barker (Blues the Frog), James Edward Becton (Man in the Moon), Brian Barry (Walter Wannabe), Amy Coleman (The Octorator), Kathy Deitch (Happy the Clam), Erique Cruz DeJesus (Manny-T), Reggan Holland (Mama), Lauren Lebowitz (Rayadar), and Kenny Wade Marshall (Mu Pollu).

The music, lyrics and book are by David Cooper (co-creator) and Jeff Katz (co-creator). The creative team also includes Elizabeth Lucas (director), David Cooper (musical director), Maurice Brandon Curry (choreographer), David Esler (set designer), Carri Skoczek (costume designer), Rachel E. Miller (stage manager), David Ordower (lighting designer), Marcus Karlstad (sound designer), and Michael Roderick (props designer).
