Emelin Theatre of Mamaroneck, New York wants another slice of Steve Scionti and James Shanta's Pizza - that is Life is a Pizza!, a one- man depiction of life among the Sicilian-Americans. The upstate New York venue hosts the show June 20-July 1. Shanta directs. Scionti stars in his one-man look at a Sicilian American family beginning at the funeral of his immigrant grandfather and flowing back and forth in time as he portrays a whole range of Sicilian relatives. Pizza! won two Los Angeles Dramalogue Awards for Best Performance and Best Writing in 1997 after a run at the Zephyr Theatre. Shanta and Scionti are currently developing a screenplay of Pizza!.
