News Apollo Takes Flight as Keystone World Premiere Begins in CA, June 5 Nancy Keystone directs the world premiere of her Apollo — Part 1: Lebensraum which begins at the Kirk Douglas Theatre June 5.

Presented in association with the Critical Mass Performance Group, which Keystone founded and serves as artistic director of, the work is slated to open June 12 and run through July 3 at the California stage.

Apollo — Part 1: Lebensraum combines text, image, movement and music to retell the stories of Wernher von Braun and Arthur Rudolph, scientists of Nazi Germany’s rocket program who became American heroes.

The cast of the epic space race tale includes Hugo Armstrong, Kelly Boulware, Russell Edge, Richard Anthony Gallegos, David Heckel, Christopher Shaw and Valerie Spencer.

Keystone provides the set design with a design team that also includes Erin Julie Tavin (costumes), Justin Townsend (lighting) and Austin Switser (video). Randy Tico composes original music for the production. Winnie Y. Lok serves as the production stage manager.
