Miss Mona and her girls of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas have changed their place of residence in Houston for a June 19-24 visit, due to the theatre-district flooding there.

Rains from a tropical storm named Allison flooded several performing arts institutions in downtown Houston, including Jones Hall, where the touring revival of Whorehouse, starring Ann-Margret was to play. The show will instead play at the Wortham Center's Brown Theater, which was undamaged despite being located across the street from Jones Hall.

Marvin Zindler, the reporter who closed the real-life Chicken Ranch (the brothel of the title) in nearby La Grange, TX, is the inspiration for the show's zealous Melvin P. Thorpe. Zindler will welcome the show to Houston with a live broadcast from the Wortham's lobby.

On June 4, the company gathered at a Dallas recording studio to preserve this new version — which has one added song by composer-lyricist Carol Hall — on a cast album.
