Created and directed by Peter Meineck and Robert Richmond, Twelfth Night features original music by Anthony Cochrane and will run 10 weeks, to Aug. 21, at Aquila's New York City home at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, 25th Street between Lexington & Third Avenues.

"This production of Twelfth Night spins the classic tale of mistaken identity, unrequited love, bereavement and the repressive threats of a puritanical zealot with an eclectic mix of musical styles – harpsichord and lute meet drum and bass," according to production notes. "Complete with cross-dressing and swordplay, this adaptation revisits Shakespeare's Elizabethan comedy, evoking a fantastical world where true love cannot be repressed."

Aquila's Twelfth Night recently played 65 venues ranging in size from 300-2,000 seats across the United States.

Aquila is a hybrid troupe of Brits and Americans and has gained a reputation for its lean, punchy and physical productions of Much Ado About Nothing, Comedy of Errors and more.

The Aquila Twelfth Night cast includes Anthony Cochrane as Sir Toby Belch, Kenn Sabberton as Malvolio, Lisa Carter as Olivia, Louis Butelli as Feste, Lindsay Rae Taylor as Viola, Andrew Schwartz as Orsino, Lincoln Hudson as Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Natasha Piletich as Maria. Peter Meineck is Aquila's founding artistic director and Robert Richmond is associate artistic director.

Aquila's 2005 Season will conclude with a brand new "dance drama" adaptation of H.G. Wells' "The Invisible Man," a world premiere collaboration with choreographer Doug Varone (Oct. 21-Nov. 6).
