Bel Powley, who made her Broadway debut in the 2011 production of Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia, has joined the cast of Lobby Hero, set to open on Broadway in the spring. The now-complete cast also features Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Cera, and Chris Evans.
Lonergan’s Lobby Hero premiered Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 2001. The play tells the story of four New Yorkers involved in a murder investigation in the lobby of a Manhattan apartment complex: a 27-year-old security guard, his stern boss, a young police officer, and her unpredictable partner.
The Second Stage Theater revival is set to officially open March 26, marking the launch of the company’s inaugural Broadway season.
Powley’s stage credits include Elephants at London’s Hampstead Theater, the Royal Court Theatre’s West End production of Tusk Tusk, as well as Jumpy at the Royal Court. Her film roles include The Diary of a Teenage Girl, White Boy Rick, Mary Shelley, and Ashes in the Snow.
The Broadway production of Lobby Hero will feature scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, sound design by Darron L West, and casting by Telsey + Company.
