Jay Reiss' play will be presented at 7 PM at the intimate Ars Nova Theater. Directed by Christian Parker, the cast for the one-night-only reading is set to include Matthew Arkin, Rob Campbell, Ezra Knight, Maggie Siff, Brenda Thomas and Fred Weller. The play, according to production notes, concerns the fictional Martin Miller, who "has the greatest job in the world and now he wants to quit. Why? Even he doesn't know, but he's going to find out." Playwright Reiss has also written Francisco Pizarro Sings; Meanwhile, On the Other Side of Mount Vesuvius; Hooray for Iceboy!; Two Men Poised; and Awkward Silence. He is also a co-creator of William Finn's The Twenty Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The Out Loud series will next present Itamar Moses' The Four of Us Oct. 25 at 7 PM. Casting will be announced shortly.
Although the readings are free, reservations are required by calling (212) 977-1700. All readings are held at the Ars Nova Theater, located at 511 West 54th Street, west of Tenth Avenue.
