News Armbruster, Saxe, Rauch and Page Cast in Red Bull's Duchess of Malfi Casting has been announced for the Red Bull Theater revival of John Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi, which will begin Feb. 23 at the Theater at St. Clement's.

Red Bull artistic director Jesse Berger will stage the Jacobean play that will officially open Off-Broadway Feb. 27 and run through March 14. The cast of Duchess will feature Heidi Armbruster (Tea & Sympathy), Jason C. Brown, Clark Carmichael (Jumpers), Keith Hamilton Cobb, Matthew Greer (Cabaret), Carol Halstead (Gore Vidal’s The Best Man), Eric Hoffmann, Patrick Page (A Man For All Seasons, The Grinch), Matthew Rauch (Prelude to a Kiss), Christina Rouner (Coram Boy), Gareth Saxe (The Homecoming) and Haynes Thigpen.

"A great romance turns to horror as the Duchess of Malfi seeks true love in a world of forbidden passions," according to press notes. "A play for our time as much as its own, John Webster’s The Duchess of Malfi examines sexual repression, honor, class, and the true value of the human spirit, in this explosive drama of Italian intrigue."

Duchess will have set design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Jared B. Leese, lighting design by Jason Lyons, sound design by Nathan Leigh, puppetry & masks by Emily DeCola, hair & make-up design by Erin Kennedy Lunsford, choreography by Tracy Bersley, stage violence by J. David Brimmer and original music by Scott Killian.

The opening night performance will benefit Red Bull, with a reception featuring special guests Lee Blessing, Brian Murray, Roberta Maxwell and John Douglas Thompson.
