The international hit Art, written by French author Yasmina Reza, opened April 3 in Buenos Aires' Teatro Blanca Podesta. The comedy about the complexities of friendship is translated into Spanish and adapted by Fernando Masllorens and Federico Gonzalez del Pino. It is directed by Mick Gordon and the set is based on the original designed by Matthew Warchus.< P>The action begins when Sergio (German Palacios) shows his latest acquisition; a valued picture consisting of white lines painted over a white background, to his friend Marcos (Oscar Martinez). This apparently naive incident starts a chain reaction, from which Ivan (Ricardo Darin) will be the candid catalyst, making the friends expose their innermost thoughts about each other.

What started as an exchange of opinions about a picture, suddenly turns into a battlefield wherein three old friends, behaving like teenagers, expose their own contradictions, needs, and weakness. Finally, exhausted from the burden of undisguised aggression, they end up quietly eating some olives, as worn out warriors settle an uncertain truce.
