News Art Opens Meadow Brook Theatre Season Oct. 13 The Detroit area's Meadow Brook Theatre opens its second season under new leadership Oct. 13-Nov. 7 with Art, Yasmina Reza's comedy about taste, money and friendship.

To accompany the resident run of the Tony Award winning comedy, The Meadow Brook Art Gallery, located in the lobby of the theatre, will present "Passage, Inference and Surface: Paintings by Wendy Roberts and Nolan Simon." The play concerns friendships that fracture when one of three men buys an expensive all-white painting he views as "art."

Meadow Brook artistic director David Regal directs Dennis North, Loren Bass and Phil Powers. Designers are Julia Beeding (set), John Woudstra (lighting), Brett Rominger (sound), Christy Fogarty (props).

The abstract art exhibit runs from Oct. 16-Nov. 14.
