News Arthur Laurents to Appear on "Best of Theater Talk" July 20 Theatre luminary Arthur Laurents will be featured on PBS' "The Best of Theater Talk" July 20.

Laurents most recently directed Patti LuPone in the City Center production of Gypsy, for which he wrote the book. He has also penned West Side Story, Anyone Can Whistle, Time of the Cuckoo, the Tony-winning book for Hallelujah, Baby! and the screenplay for "The Way We Were." Laurents counts among his directorial credentials the 1974 production of Gypsy starring Angela Lansbury and the original production of La Cage zux Folles, for which he won the Tony.

For "Theater Talk" Laurents discusses his early career as well as his work on the musical Gypsy and his relationship with the original production's director, the late Jerome Robbins.

Hosted by New York Post theatre columnist Michael Riedel and producer Susan Haskins, Arthur Laurents' appearance on "Theater Talk" airs in the metropolitan area on WNET/Thirteen on July 20 at 12:30 AM.

The presentation will be repeated on CUNY TV (channel 75 for New York metropolitan audiences) July 28 at 8:30 PM; July 29 at 12:30 PM; and July 30 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 7:30 AM.
