News Artist of Light, From "America's Got Talent" Dance Group iLuminate, Begins June 24 at New World Stages Artist of Light, a stage show from light-suit dance group iLuminate, who rose to fame on television's "America's Got Talent," returns Off-Broadway following a world-premiere winter enagement at The Duke in New York City. Preview performances begin June 24 at New World Stages.

"I can't think of anything more exciting than returning to New York with this show for an extended run! We promise to amaze and astonish audiences again by raising the stakes, both technically and creatively," said iLuminate founder, creative director and software engineer Miral Kotb — who is also credited as director, choreographer, producer and playwright of the Off-Broadway production — in an earlier statement.

Opening night at New World Stages is set for July 18.

The production features musical direction by Justin "Kanobby" Keitt (Far East Movement), who composed for the piece alongside Christopher Tignor (Slow Six, Wires.Under.Tension).

Artist of Light, according to iLuminate Productions, "tells the story of Jacob, a talented but insecure young artist who struggles to connect with the real world. He takes comfort in his magical paintbrush, which grants him the power to turn the characters of his imagination into living, breathing creatures. When a jealous bully steals the paintbrush and uses it for evil, turning Jacob's sweet creations into horrifying monsters, Jacob must face danger without the help of his miraculous tool. He fights to save his town and friends, all while knowing the paintbrush that brought him so much joy is now a weapon in the hands of a villain bent on destruction."

Artist of Light's limited holiday engagement began Nov. 23, 2012, for a run through Jan. 5.  The creative team also includes Athena S. Bienvenu (playwright), John "JRock" Nelson (choreographer, scenic design, costume design), Dario Mejia (choreographer), Marcus Allan Cobb (choreographer) and Steven Bryson (associate producer).

New World Stages is located at 340 W. 50th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). For tickets, call (800) 543-4835 or click here. For more information, visit iLuminate.com.
