News Arts Effect's facebook me, Revealing the Secret Lives of Teens Online, Begins Nov. 5 at DR2 Theatre The Arts Effect All-Girl Theatre Company presents facebook me, a coming-of-age tale in the iGeneration, beginning Nov. 5 at the DR2 Theatre. The show is populated by teens.

Directed by Arts Effect co-founders Katie Cappiello and Meg McInerney, with a script by Cappiello, 5 PM performances of facebook me will be held Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.

Developed and performed by 13-to-15-year-old members of Arts Effect, facebook me features Winnifred Bonjean-Alpart, Alexa Caban, Danielle Cohen, Rachel Covey, Vikki Eugenis, Sophie Hearn, Kendra Jain, Julia McDermott, Fiona McSweeney-Glynn, Eliza Price, Naila Perez-Stringari, Danielle Stefania and India Witkin.

The play, according to press notes, "is a shockingly real look into the lives of ten teen girls as they attempt to navigate the excitement and embarrassment, the shame and the success of their adolescence online... where status is so much more than an update. Private battles are fought in public as thousands witness, comment, take sides and ultimately determine a victor. A witty comment, a suggestive photograph, a scandal revealed — nothing is too sacred nor too personal in the goal to garner 'likes' and be liked."

Other members of the creative team include graphic designer Jeremi Chenier, media designer Grant McDonald and sound designer Phillip Rudy.

In September 2010, the Arts Effect All-Girl Theater Company began crafting facebook me. For nine months, under the guidance of company directors Cappiello and McInerney, the 15 members of the all-girl ensemble attended weekly creative sessions to create facebook me through a combination of debate and discussion, improvisation, reflective writing and character building. Established in 2007, The Arts Effect utilizes the power of the theatre arts in the classroom and on the stage to support children in building stronger senses of self, finding their voices, and engaging and inspiring their communities/peers through the creation of thought-provoking and innovative theatrical experiences.

The DR2 Theatre is located at 103 E. 15th Street. For tickets, call (212) 239-6200 or visit www.Telecharge.com. For more information, please visit www.FacebookMeThePlay.com.
