Six-time Tony Award-winning actress Audra McDonald is headed back to Broadway soon, as she is in rehearsals for this season's Shuffle Along, Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed. Playbill.com takes a look back at her accomplished career. Welcome back, Audra!

Previews begin March 15 at the Music Box Theatre, and the show will open April 28. The musical stars record-breaking six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald, along with fellow Tony winners Brian Stokes Mitchell and Billy Porter, plus Tony nominees Brandon Victor Dixon and Joshua Henry.

Scott Rudin is producing the show. George C. Wolfe is writing the book as well as directing, and Savion Glover is creating the choreography.

McDonald won her 6th career Tony Award in 2014 for her leading performance in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. She previously won Tonys for Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess and A Raisin in the Sun.

Her solo albums include "Go Back Home" (2013), "Way Back to Paradise" (1998), "How Glory Goes" (2000), "Happy Songs" (2002) and "Build a Bridge" (2006).
