Kevin Maifeld, managing director of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, will leave that position March 15, 2001, to join the Seattle Children's Theatre, ASF announced. A national search for Maifeld's successor is under way. He came to Montgomery, AL, in 1994 from Denver Center Theatre Company where he had been executive director. During his tenure at ASF, the nonprofit resident theatre completed a $15 million endowment campaign, received a $1.75 million Ford Foundation grant and created the ASF Academy.

His work at Seattle Children's Theatre in Washington begins April 9.
