Nathan will begin her stint as Matron "Mama" Morton Sept. 13 in the Kander and Ebb musical. Nathan, who replaces Roz Ryan, will stay with the Tony-winning revival through Dec. 3.

In addition to Assassins, Nathan originated the role of Miss Flannery in Thoroughly Modern Millie (audiences embraced her for her no-nonsense turn as the typing pool matron, her conical wig and a tap break in the middle of "Forget About the Boy" in Act II). Her other stage credits include Ragtime, Swingtime Canteen, Les Misérables and Aspects of Love.

Chicago, winner of six Tony Awards, currently plays the Ambassador Theatre, 219 West 49th Street. The cast now includes Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Terra MacLeod as Velma Kelly, P.J. Benjamin as Amos Hart, D. Sabella Mills as Mary Sunshine and Marti Pellow as Billy Flynn.
