Sonia Friedman will retain her role at ATG, producing and programming at the New Amabassadors Theatre among other projects, but her new company, Sonia Friedman Productions, which she is setting up in association with ATG, will take on responsibility for larger scale work including musicals and multiple media projects.
Future productions to be co-produced by SFP include Nicholas Wright's production of Therese Racquin, Michael Frayn's Benefactors (directed by Jeremy Sams), Macbeth directed by Edward Hall and starring Sean Bean, and Penelope Wilton in Hay Fever.
Sonia Friedman's career began at the National Theatre and has included the formation of Out of Joint theatre company with Max Stafford-Clark.
ATG is Britain's second-largest owning and management group, with a portfolio of 19 theatres in the West End and out of London.
