"Phone rings, door chimes, in comes company! / No strings, good times, just chums, company!" In comes Company at Atlanta's Actor's Express, where the Stephen Sondheim musical comedy plays Nov. 1-Dec. 22. John Ruocco (Imperfect Chemistry) choreographs and directs.
In Company, first performed on Broadway in 1970, bachelor Bobby looks at the lives of his married friends and wonders if it isn't time for him to settle down. Songs in the score include "Company," "Another 100 People," "Sorry/Grateful," "Being Alive" and "The Ladies Who Lunch."
James Donegan stars as Bobby. Joining him are twenty-year Atlanta vet Kathleen McManus (Joanne), Actor's Express artistic director Wier Harman (Harry), Rebecca Boulin (Marta), Jennifer Levison (Sarah), Bryan Davis (Larry), Judith Franklin (Jenny), Kevin Harry (David), Kristie Krabe (Kathy), Thomas Liychik (Paul), Mindy Merchant (Amy), Marcie Millard (Susan), Laurie Strickland (April) and Brit Whittle (Peter).
Barry Nicora is the musical director. Designing Company are Broadway's Alexander Dodge (sets), Liz Lee (lighting) and Kristin Smith (costumes).
