News Auberjonois, Hecht and Rogers Set for Free Velvet Sky Reading Dec. 19 The "Out Loud" reading series, which is "dedicated to supporting new works from emerging playwrights," continues at the Ars Nova Dec. 19.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's The Velvet Sky will be presented at 7 PM at the intimate Off-Broadway theatre. Directed by Trip Cullman, the reading will feature the talents of Remy Auberjonois, Conor Donovan, Jenn Harris, Jessica Hecht and Reg Rogers. The Velvet Sky, according to press notes, concerns Bethany Palmer, who "hasn't slept in 13 years, so when her husband steals their son in the middle of the night, her already fragile grip on reality starts to weaken. A dark tale about the stories and lies adults tell children to keep them safe from the things that lurk in the dark."

Ars Nova is located in Manhattan at 511 West 54th Street. Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 977-1700. Visit www.arsnovanyc.org for more information.
