A melding of stand-up comedy, cabaret and musical theatre with a little flesh thrown in, Powell created the show about women and their breasts that lampoons social ideals and embraces women of all shapes and sizes.

Busting Out! first premiered in Melbourne in 2006 and has played extended runs in Australia and the U.K. The Los Angeles engagement will begin previews Oct. 12 and officially open Oct. 16.

In addition to Powell, the Los Angeles run will feature Mandi Lodge and Bev Killick, who is also a contributing writer for Busting Out!

According to press notes, "The show is an uplifting celebration of bouncy songs, wobbly jokes, thigh-slapping sketches, and of course, practical demonstrations of the fascinating lesser-known uses of the leading ladies’ assets."

Powell's stage credits also include the international tour of Les Miserables, as well as Fiddler on the Roof with Topol and the one-woman show The Journey Girl. She also penned Dumped, The Musical We’ve All Been Through.
