News Avenue Q, Lypsinka, Matt & Ben, My Own Wife Stars Talk Gender-Bending in New York, Dec. 8 Broadway and Off-Broadway stage stars take part in The New York Times speaker series "TimesTalks" panel on "Gender-Bending Performances" in New York City, Dec. 8.

The free event will take place at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center, 208 West 13th Street in downtown New York City, Dec. 8 at 8:30 PM.

Times critic Margo Jefferson moderates a discussion that explores the challenges in portraying another sex and issues of gender identity onstage with John Epperson (Lypsinka! As I Lay Lip-Synching), Brenda Withers and Mindy Kaling (Matt & Ben), Jefferson Mays (I Am My Own Wife), Natalie Venetia Belcon (Avenue Q) and playwright Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife).
