According to the actor's official website, Foa will take part in a reading of a revised version of Cupid and Psyche, the musical that debuted at the John Houseman Studio in September 2003. Foa will again take on the role of Cupid, the God of Love, opposite the Psyche of Deborah Lew, the Venus of Laura Marie Duncan and the Mercury of Logan Lipton. All four actors were seen in the Houseman production.
Nandita Shenoy is staging the upcoming reading, which will feature music direction by Peter Yarin. Cupid and Psyche was written by Jihwan Kim (music) and Sean Hartley (book and lyrics). The four-character musical offers a contemporary spin on the "ancient greek myth about the God of Love falling in love with a feisty mortal princess."
Barrett Foa, who made his Broadway debut in Mamma Mia!, recently took part in the all-star Children of Eden benefit concert. His other theatrical credits include Godspell and Just So. Foa, a graduate of the University of Michigan's Musical Theatre Department, also understudies the roles of Princeton and Rod in Avenue Q.
