Actor Bill Tatum will be presented with the American Theatre of Actors' Jean Dalrymple Award for Best Actor at a dinner at Sardi's Restaurant on May 7.

Tatum, who will receive the award for his work in Joseph P. Krawczyk's Who Killed Johnny Hansen?, stars as Arthur "Moose" McGuire in that murder mystery, which is currently playing the American Theatre of Actors Theatre. Who Killed Johnny Hansen? concerns the story of "Moose" McGuire, who is a New York City cop by day and a right-wing radio talk-show host by night. The cast of the thriller comprises Tatum, Susan Clark, Scott Farrell, Grace Garland, Jeremy Ellison Gladstone, Stephen Kelly, Alex Keomurjian, Lamman Rucker and Peter Vita.

The Jean Dalrymple Awards are now in their 18th year, recognizing "outstanding artistic achievement" in the productions mounted at the American Theatre of Actors three-theatre facility on West 54th Street.

Award recipient Bill Tatum starred in the Broadway companies of Man of La Mancha at both the Mark Hellinger and Vivian Beaumont theatres. He has appeared in over 200 commercials and met his wife of 17 years, Tony winner Karen Ziemba, in a production of Seesaw. The late Jean Dalrymple (1902-1998) was a dynamic theatrical producer who was responsible for turning New York's City Center into a respected and celebrated theatrical venue. Some of the many Broadway productions she co-produced include The Last of Mrs. Lincoln, Breaking the Code and the revival of On Your Toes.
