News Award-Winning Matilda Songwriter Tim Minchin to Play 54 Below in March Tim Minchin, the Australian comedian and songwriter who will make his Broadway debut this season as the composer of Matilda The Musical, will play a special March 2 late-night concert at 54 Below.

Minchin, who has earned awards for his work as a comedian internationally, will offer an 11 PM show that promises "his iconic dance moves, wildly teased hair, gently calmed eyebrows, natural aplomb and his enormous… sense of occasion." The evening marks his U.S. cabaret debut. Expect performances at the piano during the evening of "fun, mischief and debauchery." He is known to U.S. television audiences for playing rockstar Atticus Fetch on "Californication." He most recently toured in the U.K. arena production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar and will appear in the Sydney Theatre Company production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead later this year.
