News Bada Bing! Bada Boom!, New Musical About a Pop Trio, Gets Extra Week in Western NY A new musical comedy about the reunion of a pop trio, featuring tight harmonies, a hit man and nuns — and Italian-kissed songs made famous by Dean Martin, Perry Como, Louis Prima and more — is popular at western New York's MusicalFare Theatre.

The world premiere of Bada Bing! Bada Boom! had the largest pre-sale in the 19-year history of MusicalFare Theatre, in Amherst, NY, and will get an extra week, now to May 31. More than $100,000 flooded the box office of the 136-seat theatre.

Recalling such show as Forever Plaid and Nunsense, Bada Bing! Bada Boom! "is the story of the Bada Bings, a male singing trio that split up shortly after achieving fame at Cardinal Synne High School," according to MusicalFare. "Twenty years later they are reunited in a special reunion concert. It's an explosion of laughs when secrets are revealed, dirty laundry is hung out to dry — and there's a hit man in the audience and Nuns backstage!"

The new musical is written by Paul Maisano (who also appears in the show), directed by MusicalFare Theatre founder and artistic/executive director Randall Kramer, choreographed by Kristy Cavanagh and has music direction by Jason Bravo.

The score features "great Italian music made famous by Dean Martin, Perry Como, Jerry Vale, Louis Prima and others."

Performances were originally to play to May 24. It opened April 22. The cast includes Louis Colaiacovo (as Gino Capishe), Paschal Frisina III (as Ricky Cotta), Lisa Ludwig (as Terrie Cotta) and Paul Maisano (as Tony Terrazzo Jr.).
