The producers of Baghdaddy have announced that the new musical comedy will now play its final performance at St. Luke’s Theatre July 2. The Off-Broadway show, which details the incredible but true stories of the individuals who instigated the war in Iraq, was previously extended to close September 3.
Based on a screenplay by J.T. Allen, Baghdaddy is created by Marshall Pailet and A.D. Penedo, with direction by Pailet. The show debuted to critical acclaim in New York in 2015 and returned Off-Broadway this spring, beginning April 6 prior to an official opening May 1.
The cast of Baghdaddy is made up of Brennan Caldwell (Urinetown), Jason Collins (Signs of Life), Bob D'Haene (The Three Times She Knocked), Brandon Espinoza (Tuck Everlasting), Joe Joseph (Kiss of the Spiderwoman), Claire Neumann (Triassic Parq), Larisa Oleynik (MadMen), and Ethan Slater (SpongeBob Musical).
The production features musical direction by Rona Siddiqui, orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, and choreography by Misha Shields.
Baghdaddy is produced by Charlie Fink and co-produced by Jan Brandt, Abigail E. Disney, and Tim Disney.
