Bailey will present a three-night run of Garland in concert Sept. 5-7, and Vereen will offer his one-man show Oct. 4-5. In 1968 when a 19-year-old Jim Bailey was performing a repertoire that included impersonations of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Peggy Lee, Garland came to see him, and they sang together onstage. Years later he would perform with Liza Minnelli as her mother and for American presidents, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Princess Diana. By 1970 Jim was on all the major talk and variety shows worldwide. He has played Carnegie Hall nine times and did two seasons and many Sunday nights at the London Palladium. His television work includes "Here's Lucy" in 1972 through to "Ally McBeal" in 2002. He headlined the Olympics and the Super Bowl. His theatre work includes Tallulah and Tennessee, Mae West at the Club El Fey, Niteclub Confidential, Fragile Fire, Jeffrey and the Bette Davis play Me and Jezebel.
Vereen's Broadway credits include Wicked, Fosse, I'm Not Rappaport, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pippin, Grind, Jelly's Last Jam and A Christmas Carol. His role in Pippin garnered him both the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He also starred with Chita Rivera in the Las Vegas edition of Chicago.
