News Balanchine's The Nutcracker, with Megan Fairchild, Will Bring Holiday Magic to the Big Screen George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, as danced by the New York City Ballet, will play in select movie theatres across the country Dec. 5 at 12:55 PM and Dec. 10 at 7 PM as a presentation of "Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance."

The cast includes Megan Fairchild (On the Town) as the Sugarplum Fairy, Joaquin De Luz as her Cavalier and Ashley Bouder as Dewdrop.

The ballet features music by Peter Ilyitch Tschaikovsky, choreography by George Balanchine, scenery by Rouben Ter-Arutunian, costumes by Karinska, original lighting by Ronald Bates and lighting by Mark Stanley.

"Lincoln Center at the Movies: Great American Dance" is produced by Lincoln Center and presented in association with Fathom Events.
