LOS ANGELES -- The butch-femme dynamic is explored in Marie Carter's Ballistic Femme, which returns to Highways Performance Space Mar. 26-28. Performance artist and femme diva Carter first performed her show at Highways last summer, where she played to sold-out houses.
Can two femmes get it on outside of a Playboy centerfold? What is the butch test? How come a high femme is high maintenance -- and worth it? Why are drag queens and femmes are such good friends -- is it just about nail polish?
Ballistic Femme will answer these questions and more, using performance art mixed up with lipstick and karate -- and flashy costume changes.
